I'm pretty out of touch with it all. Living overseas helps keep me isolated from it, but I could choose to keep up-to-date, as most of my colleagues do.
My students all know far more about Ameriocan television, movies, and music than I do.
I tend to think that the potential moral benefits of television programming are rather limited, if they exist at all. I don't know of any show that doesn't deny the unity of the virtues, endorsing instead the "it's ok as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else" ethic.
