One Can Be "Pro-Military" But Having This Movie Open on Christmas Day?
Bradley Cooper's gotta decide whether or not to pull the trigger in this trailer for AMERICAN SNIPER!

Hollywood's contribution to the Military Industrial Complex? Seems inappropriate to release this movie on that day, although the studios have made other bad choices in the past.

The other night I was at a orientation evening for a certain p/t MBA program. Some of the current students praised the diversity of those in the program, as they were from all different fields and professions. But I couldn't help notice that with the talk of diversity, most of the people there to listen to the orientation were non-white; one current student was white, female, biotech engineer; there was another white-looking man, but I couldn't tell if he was hispanic or actually Spanish. Everyone else was East or South Asian.

You can't have it all.
And yet Hollywood is still peddling this crap. An army medic and single mom? But of course!

An Update on Bishop Rogelio Ricardo Livieres Plano
Scratching my head about the bishop in Paraguay
I thought the Roman pontiff had very little power over the Church? Or that his office wasn't as centralized as some thought? (Or is he acting merely as the Patriarch of the West?)

Maybe too PC, But It's Pretty
Is his character too friendly with the Turks? Is the appeal to basic human values (love of family) genuine?
A new trailer for the movie by Crowe's frequent collaborator Ridley Scott:
What?!? A battle between the two armies while the Red Sea is parted? I think the artistic license (and a lack of focus on G*d) may make the movie unbearable.

Shame on the American bishops for failling to oppose feminism, despite their love of pontificating on political issues.

I Like Him, But Is This Appropriate for a Bishop?
