Two From Sandro Magister
Francis Has an Offer in Store for China: A New Blessed
It will be the Jesuit Matteo Ricci, one of the very few Westerners honored by the Chinese communist authorities. But the thaw between Beijing and the Church of Rome still seems to be a long way off
The Third Asian Voyage for Francis Will Be to Japan
Bergoglio has dreamed of this destination since his youth. And now he will go there as pope, at the invitation of the Japanese government. As revealed and explained by a former ambassador to the Holy See, Kagefumi Ueno

Anyway, here is the new show: Fox's Utopia. I suspect that it will be more like Survivor in terms of how people deal with one another.
There is eEgalitarianism at the very beginning, with all involved in deliberation and decision-making. Individuals, no families, I assume.
They have to wait it out only a year; no permanent changes to their lives, no real consequences to their decisions or behavior. How would things be different if they knew they had to do this for their very survival, and that there was no "real world" to which they would return? And who is enforcing the prohibition against violence?
It is based on the Dutch reality tv show of the same name - how'd that end out?

Something with the Garand
After watching some YT videos of the Garand in action, I've lost the enthusiasm for it. The M-14 would be a better heirloom.

Unbroken Trailer
Trailer for Angelina Jolie's WWII Film, UNBROKEN!
Looks like a good movie for those Americans who miss the past. Louis Zamperini just passed away earlier this month.

Worst Film of 2014?
The first one wasn't very good but it must have done well enough at the box office that it warranted a sequel...
On a tangent, only because of the name, has anyone considered making a movie about the "Civil War" ironclads that faced off in the Battle of Hampton Roads, with the battle ending in a draw (though the Merrimack did leave)?

"Koinonia"
I didn't know Ahn Sung-Ki Is Catholic. Or maybe I had just forgotten; I love his acting but he's not as memorable as Kim Yuna or BoA or Bada. Do any of them sing in the video? (Bada does! Maybe the other two were too busy.) Kim Ha Neul is in it! (And so is Kim Tae Hee)

Destroying the Imaginations of Children
article
Saw the article while I was in Berkeley last week; reminded me of why I didn't like Berkeley, even though now I find that I wouldn't mind living there, if I were to consider the weather and businesses in the area alone.
I bet the fairy tale will not mention the the health risks associated with sodomy and oral sex.

November Man
A return of Pierce Brosnan to Bond Form? Or a last hurrah for an aging actor in the action genre? It reminds me of Kevin Costner's 3 Days to Kill and Colin Firth's upcoming Kingsman: stupid action.
I suppose one could argue that Hollywood action movies have always been unrealistic (even war movies).

Taking on the Gamers
A bit of a strawman, isn't it? How many of those in the androsphere/PUAsphere focus only on doing what is necessary to attract a woman, rather than making men more manly in general? Even those who are purpotedly shallow in that sense may have moved away from that to promote the broader message of the androsphere. While there are some decent articles at AoM that teach men things, I am wary of the blog owners/authors and their appeal to some made-up traditional bouregois American identity.
