A Western for SJWs
Triple dose of girl power (and one of them is an African-American, playing an ex-slave?) and anti-Confederacy (according to AICN)? What more could a SJW ask for? Actually a lot, like the native Americans indigenous peoples showing up and forcing them all off their land.

An Encyclical on Christian Persecution
Vatican II avoided dealing with Communism. Even if it were an effective instrument, I don't see an encyclical on Christian persecution coming out of this pontificate. Maybe it would be better to stop pretending that Islam is the "religion of peace."

But journalists and SJWs and others make it clear that this is not the case -- they have turned discourse into warfare by other means. Why maintain the pretense that we belong to one civil society? This is a struggle for power, and one must use rhetoric to win over the undecided in order to protect the good, not adhere to some chivalric code that is no longer relevant.

The boomers may have some attachment to the post-Vatican folk -- how about those who are younger, those who didn't fall away from the church? Is that sort of sentimentalism combined with anything more substantial with respect to faith? And is the retention of post-Vatican folk necessary for efforts at keeping Catholics in the Church? Or should we be instead be praying for and encouraging gifted holy musicians to use the best of the old to create something worthy of expressing the propers of the Mass?
Could the Roman rite have adapted Appalachian music?
