Reminded over at Unz -- How the colour pink lost its masculinity
Red is appropriate for male bathrooms, not pink. Pink is the "lighter" shade of red that is appropriate for infants and boys. Just as light blue is for infants and girls while a darker shade of blue would be appropriate for women.
Is this anyway tied to the (Byzantine) color scheme for Christ and the Theotokos, with Christ primairly clothed in red and the Theotokos draped in blue (red for humanity, blue for divinity)?
