The content of the message itself, how the "current culture" is toxic in its portrayal of masculinity, is a mix of good and bad. But the fact that a woman is saying this and apologizing, I find patronizing and ineffective for men who have taken any amount of the red pill. This sort of messaging could easily be put to use of the Feminine Imperative, without any changes to the message itself.
Though there is some recognition by TOB of the reality of sex differences, this video is an indication that TOB is insufficient for addressing issues involving sex differences and for waging the culture war. Despite their "good intentions," having a woman make the apology is actually patronizing to men. The only thing worse for the brand would be to put a numale in its other messaging.
On to the content of the message:
Culture = mass culture or pop culture. And who controls the culture?
1. “in a culture that looks to emasculate you” True.
2. “a culture that pollutes us with images of men who are striving for anything but virtue”
Not always true. We have plenty of images of men who live up to SJW standards of “virtue” and are positively depicted. Men who are associated with the white cishet patriarchy are attacked, usually through association with some vice.
3. “the media always portrays husband or male characters as these dim-witted, lazy men who do nothing for themselves”
Again, it depends on who is being lauded and who is being demonized. Gay husband? Good. Gay husband with adopted kids? Even better. Gay minority husband with adopted kids? The best. But the incompetent, henpecked average white man who is weak compared to the minority men near him? That is a staple of commercials and some TV shows.
4. "we never acknowledge that men struggle with self-worth and body image as well"
Some do acknowledge issues with functional fitness and health, but in order to destroy standards of functional fitness and health, and to give everyone a false sense of self-esteem by claiming that all physical forms are not only ok, but should be deemed physically attractive. SJW insanity.
On the scale of male existential problems, body image is rather low, as it can be easily addressed, or, with respect to the dating scene/mating market, compensated for in other ways. Give a man freedom, a political community/tribe and accountability to other men, and a mission, and he will find his self-worth. Otherwise, the problem of body image (obesity) may be compounded by (and even a result of) the obstacles and difficulties that men face due to the state, its elites, and those who hold political and economic power over him.
5. "the culture tells us that real men are these over-sexualized beings who spend 6+ hours in the gym and have no control over their sexual desires"
Feminists may attack men and male sexuality: “all men are rapists.” American sex ed programs may assume that men (and women) have no control over their sexual desires, and “educate” accordingly. But mass culture? Mass culture is fine with promoting and even enforcing male chastity for the majority of of white men. So who in the mass media is making this claim? (Certain non-white men and their sexual desires may get a pass, and may even be held to be ideal for white women.)
What man spends 6+ hrs in the gym in a day? Not even the frat dude-bros? Maybe professional athletes. (They get a pass, too, if they are not white.)
6. “the culture portrays the "nice guy" as this nerdy, backboneless man, who can never seem to get out of the friend zone and doesn’t display any sort of confidence.”
Ross of FRIENDS (TV Show)? The Big Bang Theory? In this case the mass media is reflecting reality, not shaping it. When there has been a deliberate program by the state to emasculate men, what are you left with? The nice guy. Who's not attracted to nice guys in real life? Women. I can't remember any feminist or SJW trying to tell women that they should be attracted to the typical nice white guy. They may encourage them to settle down with one for the sake of comfort and financial security and maybe one child, but they won't try to persuade them to be attracted to one. "Don't settle."
Remember: 1. Be attractive. 2. Don't be unattractive.
7. "the only guy who seems to display any confidence is the tool who has no respect for himself or for women"
Like Christian Grey of Fifty Shades? The series that originated in a woman writing a Twilight fanfic or something? iirc, that book was a bestseller, or something. And who bought and read that book? Not men.
8. "The culture has fed us the lie that "men don't cry." That if a man cries or displays any sign of sympathy or compassion, then he's weak.
Actually, the mass media is ok with normal men being sensitive and weepy. It's part of their emasculation. The nice guy and the SNAG (sensitive new-age guy) from the '70s are cousins, if not the same. A nice guy is usually expressive of his sympathy and compassion. Who can't be sensitive and weepy? The men to whom women are actually attracted.
In reality, within the tribe, though, men are ok with other men showing emotion, but within reason.
Even if one is a professed sensitive male feminist, they're still at the bottom of the SJW totem pole. Not only that but attempting to adhere to this new standard of overtly emotional behavior does not free a man from suspicion and distrust of ulterior motives or criminal behavior with respect to the protected classes (women, children, elderly, etc.), but makes him more suspicious. Hypocrisy? Or, again, deliberate emasculation and an attempt to break a man's spirit -- nothing he does will be acceptable to those who hold power.
Conclusion:
Taken as a whole, the message can still be consistent with the Feminine Imperative and its version of the "man up" command (e.g. upholding the female dignity of every woman), because it doesn't address the Feminine Imperative/feminism or explain how to deal with it. There is no repudiation of the Christian nice guy (who is a feminist) here.
“a culture that tries to pin man and woman against each other”
The Culture Project may tell men that they are made for more and be comfortable with men being assertive, taking the initiative, and acting with respect to dating, but will it tell men that they are made for leadership, holding authority, fraternity with other men, and upholding male-only spaces in order to protect that fraternity? I doubt it.
I'm not shooting to the right, but to the left.
