Dad's First Day by Mike Wohnoutka

More garbage for the masses.

At first glance, the father has a passing resemblance to the dad in Calvin & Hobbes. But he is more like a useless soyboy of now. The book is supposed to be a humorous role reversal written by a man, with the dad experiencing worrysickness instead of the child or the mom; but the book makes both the character and the author look like cucks. If the father can't model courage in trying good new things (let's assume for the moment that public education is a good thing), then from whom is his boy supposed to learn it from? Of course, the mom.

The book is supposed to foster father-son bonding through reading and so that is probably the reason why the mom is absent in the story; I doubt the dad is divorced 9he wouldn't get custody). More likely the mom character is a careerist modern gal.
