Why Listen to an Academic?

What experience does he have with leadership that hasn't been given to him thanks to credentialism and not earned?

Conversations on Jesuit Higher Education: Addressing the Church’s Clerical Culture By Richard Gaillardetz

I could agree with many, if not most, of the recommendations made by Gaillardetz taken in abstraction so long as the necessary reforms to scale were done at the same time. However, he assumes liberal/feminist culture as it rules the lives of the laity and I suspect the sort of collaboration between the laity and the clerics is one that is guided by liberalism/feminism from the bottom, rather than by others, traditionalists, for example. Thanks to the tendency towards bureaucracy and credentialism, many positions of authority in the local Latin church are held by women, and so are the recently-created positions of "parochial administrators." To whom should bishops and priests be listening more?
