$26 for UCB students, $47 for non-UCB students. Did they perform in Berkeley when I was there for undergrad? What a missed opportunity if so... I don't think I'll be able to go this year.

BBC Early Music Show: Renaissance Polyphony
Lucie Skeaping is joined by Peter Phillips and the Tallis Scholars to explore some of the defining qualities and the ethos of Renaissance polyphony. She asks what has prompted their enthusiasm for it and learns how working with this music has encouraged the group to find a distinctive sound and performing methodology. Including excerpts from some of the Tallis Scholars many recordings.

Catherine Bott presents a performance of John Taverner's Missa Corona Spirea by the Tallis Scholars, directed by Peter Phillips, given as part of the York Early Music Festival 2009.
The ensemble also perform the winning two entries of the 2009 National Centre for Early Music's Young Composers' Award - Arise by Elizabeth Edwards and God by Michael Perrett. Catherine introduces the music, meets the composers and talks to Peter Phillips about the work of the Tallis Scholars and about the competition.

I was looking through the brochure for the new season, and discovered that the Tallis Scholars (March 28) and Le Concert des Nations w/Jordi Savall (Feb. 27-8), Yo-Yo Ma (May 15) and Cecilia Bartoli (Feb. 22), will be coming to Berkeley.
But tickets cost $52 for the early music performances! Unbelievable! For the BEMF one can get student rush tickets for $20 or less!!! I suppose Cal thinks it can charge the rich people and not-so-rich students in the area those kind of prices and still pack the house. (And they are probably right.)
Eh, would I purchase a Cal Alumni Association membership just to get the alumni discount? Edit. At least there is a discount for non-UCB students.
