Christ rendered unto Caesar obediently.
Caesar took Christ's life.
Thus the Christian view of politics: not just that political authority is good, not just that it is often abused.

Possibly bad exegesis as a means of proof-texting for moral theology. The exercise of "political authority" can be good; but there is also such a thing as illegitimate political authority, or tyranny.
