Brian McCall has a series on usury at The Distributist Review: Usury: Profit on a Loan Part I and Usury: Part II. This reminds me that Roger Scruton has a piece at the new webzine Big Questions Online, Muhammed Was Right About Debt. Some have asked why Mr. Scruton would write such a piece if he is a "conservative"; I think that the audience of BQO is not intended to be conservative but more inclusive, and so maybe Mr. Scruton is trying to appeal to liberals and multiculturalists. Or maybe he is simply writing against expectations.
If our political economy is built upon usury here and abroad, the injustice of such exploitation demands redress.
