Dropped off the ballot at the Registrar of Voters. There were a lot of people going in to vote today. I missed the curbside dropoff, and brought it inside 1555 Berger. Did it make a difference for local elections? I hope so.

Today students were coming up to me and asking if I would be voting for Obama, and then telling me to vote for him. What combination of images or use of images (~ advertising) and beliefs led them to think that he was the better candidate?

I can't find a video or transcript of the Baldwin-Barr-Nadar debate; Dr. Fleming does not think much of Baldwin. Perhaps he does not present sufficient particulars on his website. I could have voted for Ron Paul instead, since he was a qualified write-in candidate. But it doesn't matter, neither is going to be president.

I thought Chuck Baldwin was going to appear on the ballot this November for the Constitution Party, but I hadn't heard about the infighting going on in the American Independent Party.

Following a split in the California American Independent Party, the Secretary of State has decided that the pro-war faction is the legal party on the ballot in the state. The result of this decision is that pro-war demagogue Alan Keyes will be on the California ballot and Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin will not.

The two factions held separate state conventions. The larger convention was the pro-Baldwin group, but the pro-Keyes faction was headed by the outgoing state chair, Ed Noonan. The Secretary of State said the office has no knowledge of who was at either convention, and of which convention had the larger attendance of state central committee members. The office made their decision based on the fact that Ed Noonan is listed in the records as the state chair.

It is too late for the Baldwin campaign to organize a petition drive, so their only recourse is to file suit, which they are expected to do.

If Baldwin is not on the ballot, then I'm definitely voting for Barr.

Someone has been posting his statement of Declarationism (RenewAmerica Forum) at various paleoconservative groups on Facebook--some sort of Straussian? Someone should tell him that Declarationism is at odds with paleoconservatism.
