Over the course of a few millennia, you learn a thing or two about human nature, the human good, and human dignity & destiny. For anyone who recognizes, as everyone should, the vast wisdom of traditional Jewish thought, a great follow is the Coalition for Jewish Values: @cjvalues

A Nerd Can Dream
In a larger sense, however, the very question is an artifact of liberalism‘s myopic pragmatism. Government should be ordered to the common good. What falls out of that basic commitment is essentially a question of prudence in various circumstances, concretizing the natural law.
— Adrian Vermeule (@Vermeullarmine) January 8, 2022
Just like a typical SoCon, pr0n makes the top of the list, even though he has no pathway for bringing any of this legislation about. Just some "great ideas" about what laws should be passed. Vermeule will never repudiate feminism nor consider it a political problem that needs to be addressed, and that shows his ignorance of what politial life requires.

Yeah Brandon Really Decided This
OK. Credit where due. Joe Biden handled the demand of the hot heads in his party for court packing deftly, creating a commission and appointing to it some sensible liberals and even a few distinguished conservatives. Well played, Mr. President.https://t.co/sefND6vU35

Still Out of Touch
As Peggy Noonan notes, some people are too big to cancel (Dave Chappelle, JK Rowling). But it's also possible to be too tough to cancel. Not everyone can be too big to cancel. But we can all be too tough to cancel. Defy the bullies. Be too tough to cancel.https://t.co/rWEcyC3V92

The Case for State Nullification
2/ Democrats circle the wagons around Dem president. Then a Republican is elected. He oversteps, citing previous Dem. Republicans, forgetting what they said about the Dem president, circle the wagons. Democrats, forgetting what they said, cry foul. Executive power keeps growing.

Boomer "Conservatism"
Today, a striking new portrait of the great abolitionist Frederick Douglass will be unveiled at the Union League in Philadelphia. I offer some thoughts on Douglass's moral witness and the sources on which he drew for it:

"Conservatism"
Surprised that I'm promoting an effort by self-described "radical feminists"? They seek to rescue Afghan women who are victims of oppression. The leaders are women I've worked with before in fighting human trafficking and prostitution and porn racketeers. https://t.co/IX9z5r70iH

"A growing atmosphere of mob justice is producing the kind of self-censorship found in authoritarian regimes." https://t.co/Oef4LKWPyb
Bullying works by inducing fear. I always knew that if you made it clear that you were not afraid of the bullies, they would leave you alone. What I've learned is that there is more to it than that. When bullies see that you're not afraid of them, they become afraid of you.
— Robert P. George (@McCormickProf) September 1, 2021
Cancel culture is a form of bullying but it is a form of bullying that relies on soft power. Not showing "fear" does not matter; if they can cancel you, they will. Hard-power bullies do not care if you fear them or not; if you resist they may even escalate. George doesn't know because he's proteceted and he lives in the Ivory Tower.
