Who can turn down free food?

Got an email from the Santa Clara Country Republican Party:

Join us for the first GOP Presidential Debate Party!

The 2008 race is underway - do you have a favorite yet? Come check it out!Nancy Reagan has invited the major GOP Presidential candidates to the Reagan Library for a presidential debate, and all the major candidates will be there. “Ronnie always hoped the Library would be a place where policy makers could debate the future. This presidential debate provides the opportunity to fulfill his wishes.”

SVgop will be gathering to watch the debate broadcast live on MSNBC. Join us for the debate at one of these locations, and then participate in our Straw Poll to declare a debate winner.

Date: Tuesday, May 3rd
Time: 5-8 PM Debate airs from 5-6:30 PM
Cost: Free food, cash barR
SVP: Help us plan - please let us know if you plan to come at or 408-246-6600

San Jose Debate Party Location:Amato's, 6081 Meridian Ave, San Jose 95120
Palo Alto Debate Party Location:The "new" Old Pro Bar & Restaurant, 541 Ramona Ave, downtown Palo Alto(There's also a mechanical bull downstairs for those of you that want a ride!)

I wonder how friendly such a gathering would be to traditional conservatives, paleoconservaties, and crunchy cons? My guess is that the SCVGop would not be sympathetic to a movement to relocalize. If I were able to attend, maybe I'd try to count the number of Ron Paul supporters... or supporters of Tom Tancredo.

Even if I could dialogue the other people attending the debate party, those who are committed partisans might frustrate me too much...
