"Traditional Christian Teaching"

I doubt it.

Have prisoners grow their own food and pay back the taxpayer for the initial investment into farming supplies and materials. This should be feasible in minimum-security facilities, even if there are concerns about them stealing tools to make weapons. Or theys hould be doing some sort of labor to repay the taxpayer.

The Legacy of the LCs

It would probably have been better if he had not been ordained in the first place, and who knows what the facts are behind that and his formation with the LCs.

The Uhmerican Church

As I've said before, LCs and ex-LCs generally don't uphold any standards for liturgy.

How Many Years Will We Have to Wait

Before its attempts at reform are declared failures?

CNA/CWR: Legion of Christ seeks forgiveness, change with new norms

The document also encouraged its members to reflect on how to best comfort the victims of these scandals and correct these instances of abuse moving forward. According to the statement, the congregation seeks to instill a new attitude.

“In addition to confronting past cases of abuse and accountability, the Congregation seeks a change of mentality, a change of habits and a change of the institutional culture that allowed so much suffering to occur, and also to continue the effort of renewal based around the creation of safe environments together with the whole Church.”
What reason do we have to think that they have the viri to accomplish this?
Shortly after Connor was elected, the new leader received criticism about his negligence regarding past abuses. He was accused of mishandling abuse complaints surrounding Fr. Michael Sullivan, a Legion priest who reportedly acted inappropriately with women through touching and other interactions.

Gail Gore, a spokesperson for the Legion, told CNA Feb. 7 that Connor and the order handled the situation with the proper levels of communication, including sending an open letter about the situation to all members of the Legion in December. He said the accusations do not accurately represent the exchange.

CNA/CWR: Francis calls Legionaries of Christ to ‘continuous conversion’ at end of Rome meeting

Pope Francis Saturday told the Legionaries of Christ religious order to look toward the future as they continue to reform themselves, seeking continuous conversion under the guidance of the Church.

Guidance from a compromised hierarchy that is unaware of problems with “human formation” because of their own defects, and what is required to properly form men as a result? There are no vir to take charge of the circus that is the LC and make some necessary changes to salvage the order. I submit as evidence the following, to be marked exhibits A, B, C, and D.

Boot camp or even some sort of Q-course at the very least, that would be a start to test the character of the men in the order. "But that sort of physical and mental asceticism isn't necessary for a presbyter!" It is necessary for a vir.

I see the young LCs still maintain their look -- from last year: Three Legionary Deacons Ordained in Indiana.

And their 2019 ordinations in Rome:

Celebrada en la basílica menor de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Roma el 13 de febrero de 2020 por el Mons. José Rodríguez Carballo, O.F.M. secretario de la Congregación para los Institutos de Vida Consagrada y las Sociedades de Vida Apostólica durante el capítulo general de los

Bishop José Rodríguez Carballo has a decent voice but the typical Latin episcopal portliness is really not appropriate for the office.

Legionaries of Christ to discuss handling of abuse at Rome meeting

Someone points out:

Other topics of discussion will include the formation of seminarians, advances in support of victims of sexual abuse, and possible coverup, negligence or omission in relation to past abuse by Legionary priests.

Given that their own formation system was corrupt thanks to Maciel and his assistants, how are they possibly qualified to discuss this? It's as bad as Jesuits and Boston College talking about the reform of clerical formation, or worse.

If JP2's Reputation is Dimininshed, So Is Dziwisz's

Dziwisz of course isn't going to talk about his own part in covering up for Maciel

CNA: St John Paul II’s abuse record defended by his long-time secretary
“The emerging opinions that John Paul II was sluggish in guiding the Church’s response to the sexual abuse of minors by some clerics are prejudicial and contradict the historical facts,” says Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, the archbishop emeritus of Krakow.

Young Catholic Professionals

The name and purpose of the group sounds like "Opus Dei lite."

The local affiliate has a Legionary of Christ as chaplain/spiritual director -- is the national organization affiliated with the LCs?

For the first event there is a dress code (business professional) -- not business casual? Reminds me of the Catholic "social" group (forgot the name) which admits only people who have a college education.

Will YCP be like SJ Catholic Professionals?

No Longer Advertising Itself as a Spiritual Day Spa

Ah, spoke too soon -- the local Legionary house still in operation: Spa for the Soul for Women, though that is from 2013. Otherwise, the website has been revamped. Who keeps this house financially afloat? Meanwhile, there is no longer a distinct LC website; the info for the LC is to be found in the Regnum Christi website.

The cult seems to be slowly dying out.
