I am leaning towards shutting things down, with no plans to republish at a different service or site. I think I will make a decision by the end of the month.

Removed some links from the sidebar; will remove some more... I changed the theme a while ago as the previous, rather simplistic theme was starting to get old. But I don't think I will stick to the current theme that long.

Spring Cleaning for the Blog

Too late for that, as it is almost summer -- but I should check the links and drop the ones that are defunct or no longer recommended.

Apparently a post title is now required for every Blogger post. Does this really improve the generation of permalinks, or is there another reason behind the change?

More on my plans for the blog

Did I note that the No Left Turn blog ended in May? Probably not. I used to read it regularly, back when I first started graduate school and was still disentangling myself from neoconservatism/the Nationalist Myth/and the Yankee mindset. I eventually stopped reading it. I've substituted "My Blog List" and "Favorite Websites" for the "Items of Interests" posts, though I may still produce some from time to time. How many of these websites and blogs will still be relevant to me in 5 or 10 years?

I will try to finish up some posts on political theory and communitarianism and the lay vocation, but soon I will be taking a break from blogging in order to focus on more important projects. We'll see if that time away will enhance my ability to write and research.

Apparently IE8 is no longer supported by Blogger, so I've switched to Chrome as the back-up, casual browser.

I've added "My Favorite Websites" and "My Blog List" to the sidebar. Some more changes to come, probably.

I don't like the new Blogger [editor]. The old editor was simpler and more user-friendly, I think. (And that's not just my ease and comfort speaking out! For example, switching between blogs is now less intuitive, and various settings that were remembered before appear to restore to default each time you sign on now.)

What Future for Los Angeles is complete, but it was rushed.

Generally I have come to detest making examples of blogs or mining articles at certain websites and  posts at other blogs for easy posts focused primarily upon criticism. There are a few that draw my ire or annoyance, and it would be too easy to pick on them for the sake of increasing "original" content on my blog. These days I try to maintain an apathetic attitude to most other blogs and refrain from commenting or responding: what do I have to do with you? I don't even know you.

My sister KK invited Br. B over for dinner and asked him to bless her family's house. He mentioned that he found my blog through a search for his name. I assumed he used Google--I should go back and edit his name, or disable the search engine for the blog. I don't think too many people read this blog, but when it comes to privacy and the internet, one can't be too careful.
