DVDs are a big way for the studios to make cash, especially when they are initially released--then the retail price is usually high, perhaps $20 or higher. But after a year or so, the prices will drop for most titles (some exceptions would be the special editions/extended cuts/director's cut, but even some of these will drop). Of course you will have to shop around, but at most retailers, both big box stores and online, there will be a price decrease...
Wish I had been paying attention to this before. I would have saved $$...
