One of the callers to this afternoon's show with Dr. Fleming referred to the American "superstate." I think calling it the American empire has some advantages, as the word "empire" has associations with regards to the internal organization and also to the conduct of its foreign affairs. I think another caller (or maybe the same caller) broached the topic of home rule. (The Illinois State Constitution.) The 2 hours were much too short.
