How they go for Baroque in Bolivia
An international festival convenes in a region where Jesuits left a rich musical tradition.

The Mission is a fictional movie featuring the Jesuits and the reducciones; while the movie has its flaws, I believe that the moral lesson of the movie, as embodied by Father Gabriel, is orthodox. Perhaps Captain (Fr.) Mendoza illustrates "those who live by the sword, die by the sword," so I don't see the movie as being an endorsement of liberation theology. Are there questions of justice involved? Yes. But does the desire for justice here on earth replace the Gospel message? No.
