Sure there's a measure of creativity doing something with someone else's work, but on the other hand, what about the "revisionism"? At least politically correct fairy tales were written to mock the PC movement. But this sort of "honest" revisionism, showing that those who were taken to be evil were merely misunderstood... it actually mocks the original work upon which it is based, and substitutes a worldview in which evil exists with one where morality is redefined in accordance with contemporary liberal mores -- no one is evil unless they physically harm someone else or are intolerant. That's it.
