I see a LMT upper.

A fifth grader, NV, posted a picture of two middle school girls kissing, and it had the following caption:
"LIKE if you suport Bisexual / Lesbian's people :D
SHARE if you know a bisexual / Lesbian's person :P"

Does she personally know someone who is bisexual or homosexual? Or is this something that she picked up through pop culture, her peers, or school? The indoctrination that pervades mass culture preys upon on the sensitivity of young girls and women, and any doubts they may have regarding their sexuality or an inclination to "experimentation" (the plasticity of female sexual attraction) - the confusion between like and lust, and so on. While some women may talk about "fairness" with regards to approving homosexual relationships, it is more an issue of being sufficiently compassionate or caring, I would think. Without a solid foundation in obedience and moral education, a girl's moral sense is destroyed by appealing to her emotions, which should be her strength when subordinated to the proper governing principle(s).

Another example of a mainstream conservative being a feminist

I recall that a certain female "conservative" radio personality had adopted a child while being unmarried. I didn't know she had actually adopted three, the last two being boys. How do her actions not support the feminist claims that fathers are not necessary, or that parents are interchangeable? If an unmarried woman has the money and lifestyle (or time) to accomodate having children either through IVF or adoption, why shouldn't she do it? A housemate considered the possibility of doing this, but I had to argue against it, pointing out that her imaginary historical examples were probably justifiable for other reasons - family members adopted nieces and nephews when their parents died, and so on, and that this was only possible for women who were of means and did not have to work to support themselves. Adoption took place within families or communities, not in a culture of the single, autonomous individual. Adopting a child only to have that child raised by a  nanny or daycare is very stupid.

So what about deliberately depriving children of a father? How is she not passing on the message that fathers are not important to the raising and well-being of children, and having a husband and father for one's children is merely a "lifestyle preference"? Regardless of her criticisms of feminism in other areas (with regards to employment or affirmative action), how can such a woman then represent herself as a "conservative," when her own life decisions undermine her credibility as one? It isn't that difficult to make a living being a professional conservative, as there are plenty of Americans who will still listen. But does she live what she supposedly defends? If not, then rather than being a spokesperson spokeswoman for conservatism she undermines it. (Upholding tradition within a local community where personal flaws are balanced with one's achievements and friendships is different from capitalizing on the mass media and straining to have a national influence while pursuing a contemporary cosmopolitan lifestyle.)

Men do not have to prove their worthiness to anybody. They are the ones who bear the primary costs of marriage. It is a woman's responsibility to prove she is worthy of the privilege of becoming a man's helpmeet and bearing his children. It takes a strict upbringing to form a tiny female savage into such a lady. Today, that form of upbringing is mostly a thing of the past: marriageable women are becoming difficult to find, and the costs of searching for them are getting too high.

Tried to jam my feet into some VFFs at REI this afternoon. Now I know how Cinderella's stepsisters felt. But I didn't cut off any parts of my feet to make them fit. I need a personal cordwainer who specializes in minimalist footwarer. A job for the post-carbon era? VFFs and I were not meant to be, apparently. There are other Asians who can wear VFFs, but is the shoe more suitable for white people than Asians? The thing about VFFs is that they are at least wide enough to accomodate my feet. I do not think that is true of the other minimalist shoes that are currently available.

I also tried on some Arc'teryx jackets. Don't bother if you have a gut. My midsection was ok, but the sleeves fit poorly or there were other problems. Now will there be post-carbon tailors making fleeces and other such jackets?

Generally the post is about the morality of pickup, Game, casual sex et al. Go read it to put the quote below in full context.

I think from a practical perspective the best we can hope for from individuals for now is consistency. Pick one, old rules or new. *** I think the bigger problem we have today are those who choose one set of rules when it suits them and then switch to the other when it is to their benefit. Even worse are the churches which give those living under the new rules or blended rules false moral comfort. At any rate, none of this bodes well for our society. As Haley puts it in a recent comment on her blog:


“No society can survive, much less thrive, when the family unit goes kaput.”


I think that we as a society have made our collective choice. For their part, women as a whole have made theirs. Worse, Christians have allowed the society surrounding them to make the choice for them. And the choice they made or acquiesced to is clear:


New rules.


So be it.
