Thomas Woods, Authority Issues—Is There Sovereignty Beyond the State?

The first few paragraphs are a diversion into Dr. Woods's libertarianism. Is Dr. Woods giving too much of a libertarian slant on medieval history and political theory? (The latter he does not discuss in this first part of the series.)

So what do the medievals say about dominium? How is Bodin's conception of sovereignty different from the claims put forth by the Holy Roman Emperor? Are there other competing notions of sovereignty in the 15th century and afterwards? Did not the medieval polities legislate against injustice? And is not injustice a concern of morality?
