The driver was cited too fast for going too fast in the given conditions (negligent operation), false logbooks, and faulty brakes. The fines for these most recent safety violations will most likely top $10,000.
The Boston Channel sent one of its reporters undercover to see if there were still safety violations--there was a hidden camera and they observed some rules being violated. Perhaps that story is available online somewhere.
