Some people thought James Burnham’s identification of liberalism with civilization’s suicide was hyperbolic. In light of American institutions’ embrace of anti-Americanism, what would they say now? In daily life, we can find the Risen One in the faces of our brothers and sisters above all in the poor and those on the fringes. We will be amazed how the greatness of God is revealed in littleness, how his beauty shines forth in the poor and simple.— Pope Francis (@Pontifex) April 27, 2021

Someone clarified that she was wearing something underneath that resembled a nimi-skirt but as much as Anscombe was an important figure in analytic Thomism and moral philosophy, she cannot be held up as a role model for women. She's an outlier who was probably closer to men in intelligence and brain structure.

Let's be precise: We are looking for state solutions to ethical problems, and mass population centers are an ethical problem, caused by and in turn causing the state.
Can anything be done to prevent the slide of decadence in large mass population centers made possible by wealth founded upon cheap energy?
While ultimately each one must decide on the question of G*d and live that decision, institutionalized "religion" is not enough to save a West suffering from the cancerous growths that are states and their mass population centers; those growths must be directly addressed. Dreher is wrong to think this is a problem of "liberal democracy" -- it is a problem of oligarchs exercising control over the state (and their struggle with one another), and changing ideology of some of these "elites" masks the underlying problem.
