Perpetual Youth? Would That Really Be a Problem for Today's Modern Woman?
The Age of Adaline
Blake Lively's Age of Adaline Timeless Beauty: See Her Stay 29 Through Eight Decades in New Movie Posters

What a load of crock, wanting to grow old with someone you love. How many Uhmerican women today really want that, as opposed to being the one who stays young while letting the man age? Many men and women may lament the loss of beauty and youth in women, but the fading of both qualities, which are connected, is also tied to reproduction, that is a drop in fertility. And so the loss of youth is both a consequence of original sin (and a punishment in that way) but also a mercy, a means to counteract a woman's pride, narcissism, and disordered self-love, though it may seem to come too late for many as their characters are well-ingrained. (How many Uhmerican women practice immodesty to flaunt their sexual power over men to feed their narcissism and pride with the attention of men and women?) But it is not too late for conversion, though if they have been squandering their youth and their ability to bond to a man through promiscuity, it may be too late for them to have an opportunity to exercise happiness in marriage.
Similarly, in the case of men, there is the suffering (or infliction?) of physical evil as a way to open the path to humility and holiness, but for men it is not physical beauty or attractiveness but the diminution of his physical or intellectual abilities (frailty and loss of memory) is.

Time for the Franks to Turn Japan Over to Another Church
If they are unable to evangelize, maybe someone else can. Are the cultural obstacles of Japan so high that the grace of God cannot overwhelm them?
Vatican Insider: Francis: “Hidden Christians” are an example for Japan today by Iacopo Scaramuzzi
In his speech to Japanese bishops who are in Rome on their ad limina visit, Francis recalled that they kept the flame of the faith alive even when priests and missionaries were expelled in the 17th century

Dr. Wilson on the American "Reaction"
Society Precedes Government: Two Counterrevolutions by Clyde Wilson
Can't agree with Calhoun on the origin of government for this reason -- it's not simply because of protection, though that is one of its functions in the fallen world, but for the sake of legislating for the common good.
He begins his “Disquisition” by discarding the notion that all men are born free and equal, not because he wants to defend slavery, but because he wants us to begin in the right place. All of us are born as helpless babes who cannot survive a day without society. God has created man a social animal. He needs society to survive, much less to realize his highest potential. Societies are a given, created by history and human nature. But men have selfish as well as social feelings, which demand inevitably a government of some kind to keep the peace and enforce justice. While society is created by God, governments are only creations of men, existing for the protection of society. And since those entrusted with government have selfish feelings like all other men, a good government will have a constitution, not so much a grant of power as a statement of the limits of power.
Can't agree with Calhoun on the origin of government for this reason -- it's not simply because of protection, though that is one of its functions in the fallen world, but for the sake of legislating for the common good.
