on CBS - The Dovekeepers
An unjustified allocation of resources for a certain demographic during Holy Week, with a story which does not really pertain to Passover but does relate to a certain nationalism? Or do we really need the story of Masada to be told again? (I should watch the miniseries featuring Peter O'Toole all the way through.) Apparently this one is different enough, especially as it is gynocentric. (Another "strategic" decision by CBS, no doubt.) As this one is being produced by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, who are also producing NBC's AD which premieres on April 5, maybe they are trying to make sure they don't miss any customers. (Who's going to be the first to produce a miniseries about Muhammad?) An appeal to the supposed Judeo-Christian identity of the United States?
