In our absurd era, more and more Americans are beginning to wonder who they really are.

The author might be one of those 20th century nuAmericans with whom one could have a conversation, but as a 20th century nuAmerican who bought into neo-Yankee myths, he is oblivious as to why the leftists have been successful with identity politics and their purposes for fomenting division. Instead he is content to announce again that the U.S. is a proposition nation and we should all just get along.
