South Korea...

Madison Bumgarner - the Hickory Assassin. Works for me. Had to laugh at the neutered response given by the two hosts on KNBR after the suggestion was made. As if they would actually be critical of real-world assassinations... drone killings, any one?

Better a nickname which leads one to not take sports so seriously while respecting the abilities of players, than a nickname which feeds into the sports fanatic mindset. MadBum? That isn't offensive in a different way? Also funny that the local hero, at least for today, is a Southron. (You going to tell him he has a girl's name?)

Won't make it to the parade, probably wouldn't want to deal with the crowds anyway... May buy some merchandise for the Giants though...

San Diego Padres

I haven't been keeping up with major league baseball since I was a child; I saw a game between the Giants and the Padres and noticed one of their new uniforms, a camouflage design intended to honor the US Marines, who have a recruit depot in SD and a base, Camp Pendleton, etc.

Padres' new camouflage jerseys could prove to be too realistic
