A teacher mentioned today that she read this book for her class, proving again that parents have no control over the propaganda being pushed in the name of "public education." We live in an age when cultural Marxism has taken over our state institutions. Even in red-about-to-turn-purple Texas, a "transgender boy" (born female) won the state girls' wrestling championship for the second year in a row. Some conservative state Texas is, when (1) it sponsors a wrestling championship for teen-aged females and (2) permits a teenaged-female undergoing hormonal "therapy" to participate in that championship.

It says something when out of all normies it's the Latin traditionalists who have anything close to a sensible policy regarding sex distinction. (I'm not including groups like the Chassidim and Amish who exclude themselves from normal society to one degree or another.)

Who remembers the US women's soccer team for their girl power brashness and lack of sportsmanship when they were eliminated in the last World Cup? That sort of arrogant, loutish behavior needs an appropriate response, and fake chivalry is not it.

In Forging the Hero, I spent a lot of time explaining the concept of innangarð, and that our tribe/clan/community is defined as those who share our values, as evidenced by shared traditions and customs. If you identify as part of a tribe, or 'inner circle of trust,' no matter how lightly, that practices behavior (customs and traditions) that evidence cowardice as a value, then you will succumb to the ease of cowardice.
Don't capitulate to the cultural Marxists, or accept the status quo and the harm it is doing to the next generation in order to be accepted or to avoid trouble. If you act like a cuckservative, you will be recognized as one and deservingly outgrouped by those seeking to build a sane, virtuous community.

It won the Newbery Award in 1961; even back then the supposed elites of the literary world leaned left. The writing of the novel was probably a very progressive act at that time; so far I have not heard of any SJWs criticizing it, probably as it has attained the status of a modern children's classic, but give it time.

When I was growing up I had very little interest in reading it -- a book about a girl? Trying to be a boy?

Yesterday I remembered when the father of a 6th grade classmate, AJ, came to our class to give a talk about terrorism and Islam -- he was a bit of an apologist, and I don't mean of the Ron Paul sort. I think he was an academic, an "expert" on the Middle East and Islam at a local college/university/think tank. Maybe he was trying to teach us to be more tolerant or understanding of Muslims. Is he still doing the same thing today? (He's probably retired since then.)

The company produces materials for literacy and character education to be used in public schools -- of course one finds liberal virtues (e.g. tolerance) or traditional virtues subordinated to the liberal nation-state and ideology. The state will promote and enforce the morality that suits its purposes, in opposition to the common good.

Heard some students saying that they hate Trump and other comments; indoctrinated by their parents? Teachers? Mass media? And why? Because they think he is anti-hispanic due to his immigration policies? If so, do they understand that by identifying narrowly with the Hispanic interest, non-hispanic whites may do the same? And what will the consequences of that be?

A mom brought her child's favorite book to read to the class as a part of the star of the week activities. It was a children's book featuring LEGO versions of comic book characters; in this story, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batgirl. During the story Batman and Superman argue, rather bicker, about who is a better superhero and is more powerful, while Wonder Woman and Batgirl do the actual job of saving the day. The standard sort of role reversal that is PC these days. Batman and Superman make up temporarily, but go back to bickering, while the woman complain about the boys and go have an ice cream or something. As if men in real life don't know how to cooperate in spite of differences or alpha competitiveness -- how have men managed to make war all this time? The mom and dad thought it was funny, but it is another example of how mass culture is being used to poison the minds of children.
