Today we had 3 priests celebrating -- one of them was a Dominican missionary to Kenya. I don't know who the other two were, but one of them resembled Fr. Fessio. (But it wasn't him, I could tell from his voice. I think he's also taller than Fr. Fessio.) He said the Confiteor during the penitential rite; that threw us off. Also, when it came time for the Liturgy of the Eucharist, they celebrated Mass ad orientem. I was surprised by that as well. Did they tell anyone beforehand that they were going to do this? I didn't ask... but it was nice. If only this observance would spread throughout the diocese.
