And there is no getting around the fact that the same flag was resurrected in the 1950s by Klansmen and other white supremacists, and wielded as a symbol of resistance to equality for black Americans."
After all, the Stars and Stripes could also be said to be the symbol of a political order built on slavery. He still doesn't get it, and it is not clear to me why he doesn't understand that his simplified version of the reasons for secession is wrong. Noah Millman is even worse.
