Steve Sailer asks: Has Society Become More or Less Huggy?
Fake hugging seems to abound among Millenials -- I say fake because it is exchanged between people who are nothing more than superficial acquaintances, and between women and beta orbiters or nice guys. In the case of the latter maybe it's more of a tease than anything else. Do Millenial men exchange hugs with one another? I haven't witnessed it. Given the questionable origin of the handshake, some traditionalists may eschew it, but I think it is well suited as a sign of familiarity and fraternity among men who are friends -- but less appropriate between strangers, even though this is not its current meaning.
