Robert Locke, Why America Is Not A Propositional Nation

Why America Is Not A Propositional Nation
By Robert Locke

His list of existential facts, which "conservatism" conserves:
1. A predominantly Christian (or Judeo-Christian) nation.

2. Sufficient ethnic homogeneity, if only so that the body politic is not torn apart by conflict.

3. American ethnicity, i.e. the culture and habits of mind of Americans as opposed to other nations. (What would the predominant strains be?)

4. A middle-class society. (Would this really be the case in an agrarian society?)
